The Re-Grip

So, testing is underway for RipIt Grips. A golf grip brand from a land “Down Under” (I suddenly feel like writing a song). I received these grips some time ago and I’ve been excited to get the testing started.

There’s a lot to like about these grips out of the box. Their texture and the artwork on these grips are both something to behold. Although, the “GEO” grip – the featured grip of this post – is on the reserved side.

To describe the “GEO” grip, I’ll let RipIt do the explaining.

Subtle geometric patterns create the perfect hand alignment, so your club face is as square as Jay Leno’s chin. A soft feel with perfect patterns and colours to make those clubs as fly as Marty. This all-rounder is a perfect fit for all your clubs, from wedge to driver. Keep it clean with one colour or mix it up. Either way, you’ll be looking steezy.

The GEO weighs in at 61 grams and comes in as a “Standard Plus Sizing.” RipIt Grips are manufactured as a wider diameter standard grip. This makes them easy to adjust to a mid-sized sizing. Two extra wraps or three wraps, overall. A gentle taper towards the lower hand aids in creating a soft relaxed… grip.

The combination of a high percentage of natural rubber with synthetic rubber and additives makes a long-lasting grip. It is soft and weather-resistant. I should note that the core size is 60 round or .600”.

Re-Gripping with the “GEO” was a breeze and I included the extra wraps to work it up to a mid. While I don’t recommend re-gripping clubs without a proper workspace which includes a bench and a vise, it can be done. Just exercise caution while using a blade and cut away from your body.
